Hope Cove is located in the South Hams area of Devon and enjoys one of the mildest climates in the whole of Britain.
The picturesque village, with its stunning coastal views, nestles in the shelter of Bolt Tail and in the curve of Bigbury Bay. Originally a small fishing and crabbing village, Hope Cove is now considered a beautiful coastal sanctuary. An ideal place to relax and unwind, with its clean sandy beaches, charming thatched cottages, pub and restaurants. Hope Cove is a very popular holiday destination with families, couples and walkers alike. Once a favourite haunt for smugglers, it is really two villages in one - Inner and Outer Hope.
There are two sheltered, sandy beaches, approximately 400m away from the cottage. The unspoilt beaches offer safe bathing and the smooth stretches of sand are perfect for families. Lots of Rock Pools to find crabs to catch! The beaches have a Seaside Award for water quality and cleanliness. Sail, windsurf or dive here. Dolphins and seals have been seen swimming and diving in the cove.
A popular haunt for divers as there are over 30 shipwrecks in the area, including that of the Spanish galleon "San Pedro".
With the Coastal Path running through the village, there are fabulous walks to both the east and the west.
